What is Community Supported Agriculture?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a fantastic opportunity for farmers and local consumers to join forces. The idea is simple. Your household or family becomes a shareholder in our farm by making a commitment to buy from us before the start of the growing season. We will then fill our greenhouse and fields with crops grown specifically for you that are freshly harvested each week. This concept brings together community members, farmers and agricultural land in a mutual support based on this annual commitment to one another. This commitment helps to sustain the land and ensure the survival of farms for today and future generations.
Members will receive a wide variety of sustainable and naturally grown food that is harvested at the peak of ripeness, flavor and vitamin and mineral content. Share holders visit the farm once a week and pick up a mix and selection of the week's bounty. In addition to the share we harvest for you, all share holders have access to our Pick-Your-own-Garden, featuring green beans, culinary herbs, many kinds of tomatoes, in season vegetables, cut flowers and pumpkins.
Share pick up days at the farm are Fridays 3-6pm, Saturdays 9-noon.
We are now accepting members for the 2015 season, please signup now. We anticipate selling out of shares for the season. Our season runs from June-October.
Cost: $600 Full Share - $350 Half-Share No split shares.
To Sign-up, click HERE to Download CSA Application. Print it and return it to the farm with payment.
Last season was a great success and we look forward again to providing you with freshly harvested, chemical and pesticide free produce in exchange for your support of our sustainable growing methods.
The shares include weekly pickups of produce at Long Hill, as well as Pick-Your-Own vegetables, herbs, and flowers on the farm. The harvest season will run from June to October. Shareholders will receive a wide variety of naturally-grown produce. Shareholders are also invited to enjoy the open space of our 150 acre farm for hiking, dog walking, picnics, etc.
Distributions: Weekly full share distributions equal approximately one large bag of produce and is a "mix and match" format. Distributions are Friday's from 3 to 6 pm and Saturday's from 9 am to 12 noon.
